Executive Directors Message

As a young man in the Marines, I became addicted to drugs in the early 70’s. I was hospitalized and so messed up that I didn’t even know my own name, or my parents’ address and phone number. I give total credit to the prayers of my mother, grandmother and sister that I even made it out alive. Once home, still strung out, my sister led me to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. At that very moment, I became instantly sober, there was no withdrawal to go through, no pain, just surrender. Jesus had not only saved me, but he delivered me from my addiction.

I know that that same Jesus who saved me, delivered me in the 70’s and has kept me for over 35 years, still saves men’s souls and sets the captives free today. Leading men to Jesus is what Ohio Valley Teen Challenge is all about. Without Jesus, OVTC would be just another program. I consider it a privilege to direct this awesome ministry that is simply a vessel for God to use to Rebuild Lives, Restore Families, and Reclaim our Community.

Pastor Roy Barnett previously served on the local Teen Challenge Board of Directors for 8 years, and for a total of 10 years as a Teen Challenge Program Director, out of state. He currently serves on the National Teen Challenge Board of Directors as the Great Lakes Regional Representative.
